Creating Ethnic Diversity... in Photoshop

We've all heard the expression "the camera never lies" but in today's Photoshop age that phrase should be followed by "just kidding."
Take a close look at the before and after images below. The client loved a stock image of a kid's band we selected for an advertising campaign. It was perfect for the "Plays Well With Others" theme we had created, but since the ad was going to run in the European and Asian markets, we needed to create ethnic diversity in the photo.

That's where Photoshop came in - we changed up not only the kids, but also fixed a situation in the original shot of the girl playing the piccolo incorrectly. So we switched out to a flute, corrected the way she was playing it, and it now looks like a custom photograph shot exclusively for our customer!

So next time you're at the supermarket checkout, take a closer look
at that magazine cover and ask yourself... is the camera really
telling the truth?
